In recent months I have been very fortunate to work with Giant Astronaut, an up and coming badass Virtual Reality Company in downtown Portland. During my time I worked closely with Giant's founder, Seth Chaffey, a brilliant programmer, creative, and now close friend. Our plan was more in the interest in generating excitement in this new and promising (mind-blowing) field than generating income. Enter BORA Architects, a modern architectural firm interested in pushing the boundaries on contemporary visualization for their clients and architects. The two teamed up in what we found to be a memorable experience placing one of BORA most current designs into VR for the architects to explore virtually. Seeing the shapes of these models in full scale, all around them produced the wow-factor that is undeniably infectious. It wasn't long after I heard the great news; BORA had been voted Firm of the Year in the Northwest. In part, due to the innovative steps forward with reimaging a way to present and analysis design using virtual reality. My part in this was small, but made me deeply proud.
